OFFICIAL WORLD RECORD BURNOUT
The Street Machine Summernats is going to retake its burnout world record on Friday the 4th January 2019 at Exhibition Park in Canberra.
The record was first set at Summernats 26 at 66 cars. Two years later, 103 entrants sent 206 tyres to a smoky end at Summernats 28. There have been record attempts made all over the world since then, including America, Europe and the Middle East, but only one group has got the job done to the satisfaction of Guinness World Record Officials.
The new record of 119 cars was set last September as part of Saudi National Day activities. It was an impressive feat and has set the Summernats a big target when it attempts to take back the record it set in 2015.
On Friday 4th January 2019 at Summernats 32, a minimum of 120 cars will compete a simultaneous burnout to reclaim the record.
