ENTRANT INFORMATION

WHO CAN ENTER THE SUMMERNATS?

Summernats is world-famous for showing off the coolest, toughest, angriest and craziest street machines on the planet. Our entrant cars look and sound different to the family hack, the new car fresh from the showroom, and different to what you see at your supermarket car park.

Generally, entrant cars must be obviously modified or customised. That's the basic thing that sets a Summernats entrant apart from what you see on the road. Unique cars with limited modifications are also welcome when they are extremely well-detailed.

The 'Vehicle Entry Guide' contains all the information you need to enter a car at Summernats and will ensure that everyone enjoys the event safely and have a great time. It is vital that you read and understand the guide. If you're still unsure of something after reading the 'Vehicle Entry Guide', just call us and we'll give you some advice.

You can be confident that cars with plenty of extras, especially obvious ones, will be accepted. If you haven't got a lot done, make sure your car is super clean inside and out, including underneath (a coat of black paint underneath sometimes makes a big difference).

The more information you put on your entry, the easier it will be for you and us.

Entrants under the age of 18 years must have a parent or guardian's consent to participate by signing the Summernats participant release form on their behalf.

Acceptance and decline of car entries is at the discretion of the Organiser. Car entries will only be considered if all criteria are met and your application is completed in full. This includes; agreeing and accepting ALL Summernats Terms and Conditions of Entry, full payment received, recent photograph/s of your vehicle provided and the Entrants Declaration signed at Scrutineering.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FUEL INTO SUMMERNATS?

Under no circumstances are Entrants to bring additional fuel to Summernats. This includes all car parks and grounds as well as the entire Exhibition Park Precinct. NO EXCEPTIONS.

In the interests of safety, fuel is available to purchase at the Summernats Fuel Depot direct from the official fuel supplier, and we encourage ALL entrants to use the facility.

You no longer need to pre-order your fuel. The fuel supplier will be bringing enough fuel that can be purchased at the event on the day.

If you use a special type of fuel and want to check that it will be available for purchase or have any further questions, please contact the supplier direct.

Fuel Supplier will be confirmed closer to the event.

WHAT IF MY CAR IS NOT READY?

If your car is not ready to come to Summernats you have a couple of options available to you.

If the original car you pre-entered is not ready you can;

  • Bring another car and do a 'Change of Vehicle' at scrutineering, provided the vehicle meets the minimum requirements to be an entrant vehicle. See the 'Vehicle Entry Guide' for requirements. If unsure, contact the Summernats Office on 02 6241 8111.
  • Use your Entrant Pass as a 'Non-Participating Entrant'. The Entrant Pass holder can use their Entrant Pass for general admission to attend the event (without a car), and will receive the entrant goodie bag, t-shirt, number plate and the car stickers once the event has concluded.

NOTE: CAR ENTRIES CAN NO LONGER BE TRANSFERRED OR GIVEN TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF USE AS A PARTICIPATING ENTRANT.

SCRUTINEERING

Scrutineering is the registration process that occurs when you arrive at Summernats with your Entered Vehicle. It is your first port of call and is where your entrant vehicle will be checked for safety and entry worthiness. Final acceptance of your vehicle into Summernats as an Entrant vehicle will be made at Scrutineering and will be based on the vehicle meeting the essential minimum requirements outlined in the 'Vehicle Entry Guide'.

Summernats operates two scrutineering locations, EPIC (Exhibition Park In Canberra), and Thoroughbred Park (Racecourse), so it is important you take note of which location has been confirmed for you and your vehicle. Location details and maps will be printed on your entrant tickets.

Entrants MUST arrive at their designated location no earlier than their scheduled time slot.

JUDGING AT SUMMERNATS

Entering a car in the Summernats does not mean it has to be judged. It is entirely up to you.

Summernats has many competitions in place that highlight excellence in workmanship, driving skill, creativity, outrageous imagination, beauty or just hard work.

Vehicles fall into one of three primary groups - Elite, Street, and Tuff Street. Entrants must be aware that they can only enter ONE of the groups.

All vehicles wishing to be judged must initially be presented at the Judging Pavilion.

Download the Judging Information booklet for further information.
