Street, show and race. Three disciplines that rarely go together in the one car, but something that Sayed has managed to pull off with his epic VL Commodore, PR03LT.
Packing a 1000hp Maatouks Racing into the smoothed and detailed engine bay is more than enough for easy nine-second passes at the drag strip, but this car is every bit the street machine, not just a rough and ready race car. Mini-tubbed and packing detailed 20x11in Simmons in the back as well as a complete interior retrim, Sayed's metallic blue beast is certain to turn even more heads when it rolls into Summernats 31, January 4-7, 2018.
From Summernats 31, the Summernats team is elevating the Sound-Off to a genuine part or the Summernats judging process. There will be no separate Sound-Off entry, so if you've got a banging sound system your car will still have to meet full Summernats entry standards. This is a change from previous years where competitors have been able to enter the Sound-Off without being a full Summernats entrant.
This means that great cars with awesome sound systems will be bringing a different kind of rumble to the Nats' world famous cruise route, with Sound-Off entrants able to cruise the Nats for the first time.
The Sound-Off runs on both Saturday and Sunday with a large range of trophies on offer. Please remember to include as much vehicle information in your entry as possible. Click the link below for further Summernats entry information.
SUMMERNATS STANDOUTS TACKLE MEGUIAR’S MOTOREX
Four Summernats Top 60 contenders qualified for Meguiar’s Superstars and will be heading to MotorEx, Sydney 2017. Kylie & Adam Perry (1961 Holden custom), Bill Sharkey (1955 Chev coupe), Brent Murray (1968 Dodge Dart) and Scotty T (1934 Ford Coupe) will have the opportunity to battle it out for the Superstars Super Six and Superstars Grand Master!
Three of the biggest winners from Summernats will also taking centre stage at MotorEx. Summernats Top Judged; Chris Bitmead’s stunning XBOSS – the only car in Summernats history to take first place in every category it contested. Summernats 30 Meguiar’s People’s Choice, Simon Mokdassi’s and his 1600hp, retina-searing 1971 XY Falcon, XYKING. And this year’s very popular Street Champion, Terry Morton and his hard-core, pro-touring 1968 Mustang, RO99UE.
Other Summernats standouts making a splash at MotorEx Sydney 2017 are; Michael Bellette 1969 Ford XW Falcon, BLUE-RAY that was part of Friday Night’s epic Meguiar’s Great Uncover. Craig Dixon’s sexy HQ coupe (TUFHQ) which took out Elite Top Coupe. The piggy-backed Chev trucks of Robert Rawlings caught everyone’s eye – understandably it took out the High Impact Award.
Another high-impact car will be Jake Camilleri’s 1959 Chev Brookwood low-rider wagon, OLSKOOL. Josh Cronin’s very slick ’32 3-window coupe (BEARS32) is all class, while James Demetre’s wild Kandy Green LC is about as in your face as they come.
Each of these MotorEx early-bird entrants saved themselves, $50 – that’s a carton of ice-cold beer! If you want the same get in now, as the early bird offer closes April 18th, 2017.
